Wildlife Tour
Overview
This 10-day wildlife tour provides a comprehensive journey through Sri Lanka, starting with a focus on its natural parks and famous cultural triangle. The itinerary covers several key wildlife viewing opportunities, including full-day safaris at Wilpattu and Yala National Parks, known for leopards, elephants, and sloth bears, as well as safaris at Minneriya and Udawalawe. Travelers also experience the country’s diverse natural landscapes through a trek in Horton Plains National Park, scenic views from Ambuluwawa Mountain, and a visit to the Ramboda Waterfall. The first part of the trip is centered around Wilpattu and the historical area of Dambulla.
The second half of the tour shifts to exploring Sri Lanka’s rich heritage and picturesque hill country before concluding on the coast. Key historical and cultural sites include the UNESCO World Heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Dambulla Cave Temple, and the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Scenic travel is a feature, with a beautiful train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella, where guests can visit Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge. The final days cover whale and dolphin watching near Mirissa and a walking tour of the historic Galle Dutch Fort before traveling to Colombo for departure.
Itinerary
Day 01
- Arrival in Colombo Airport.
- Wonderway travels tour guide will meet you & welcome you at the arrival gate with orchid garlands.
- You will be directly heading to Wilpattu Hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Wilpattu)
Day 02
- Early morning, leave for Wilpattu National with packed meals. (5.30 AM)
- Full day wildlife safari at Wilpattu National Park.
- After wildlife safari you will be directly heading to Dambulla Hotel.
- Overnight stay at Dambulla Hotel.
Day 03
- After relax breakfast at hotel start travel to Sigiriya and explore UNESCO world heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
- Travel to Dambulla and enjoy Hiriwadunna village trip and experience bullock cart trip/ vessel trip/ tree hut/ village cooking demonstration & Tuktuk trip.
- In the afternoon enjoy a amazing jeep safari at Minneriya National Park.
- In the evening check in to Dambulla Hotel.

Day 04
- After breakfast at hotel starts traveling Kingdom Kandy.
- En-route visit Matale Spice Garden (Authentic Sri Lankan spices & it’s hand made products)
- En-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple
- In the afternoon visit Temple of Tooth Kandy (Loard Buddhas sacred tooth relic)
- Explore the Royal Botanic Gardens of Peradeniya, the largest and most extensive in Sri Lanka.
- Next all can entertain in Kandy Cultural show(3 dancing styles in Sri Lanka)
- Visit Kandy city view from the view point
- Evening check in to Kandy Hotel.

Day 05
- Early morning visit to Udawatta Kele Sanctuary.(Optional)
- After that go-off to check amazing Sri Lankan Gem & Jewelery Museum.
- Next visit authentic Sri Lankan Batik clothing, silk, art & craft galleries.
- In the afternoon start traveling to Nuwara Eliya.
- En-route visit Temple loop (Embekke Temple Woodcarving, Gadoladeniya Stone carving, Lankathilaka Image House)
- En-route visit & explore Ambuluwawa Mountain View tower & Nature Reserve.
- Explore Ramboda Waterfall.
- Visit Damro Labukele Tea factory & tea shop.
- In the evening check in to Nuwara Eliya Hotel.

Day 06
- In the early morning 5.00 am go-off with breakfast packets to explore Horton Plains National Park (Trek to see Worlds end & Bakers Waterfall)
- Travel back to Nuwara eliya & Drive to Nanu Oya Railway Station
- Experience the one of the most beautiful scenic train ride in the world & directly travel to Ella Nature Paradise.
- In the afternoon enjoy the 360 panoramic view Little Adams Peak.
- After that visit & explore Nine Arch Bridge & Ella Gap.
- Next check in to Ella hotel

Day 07
- Wake up early in the morning & Go off with breakfast packets to explore and embark on a full-day jeep safari through Yala National Park.
- Spot elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife.
- The park is home to leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and various birds.
- This is a chance to observe animals in their natural habitat.
- Next you will be directly heading to Yala Hotel.
- Overnight stay at Yala
Day 08
- After relax breakfast at hotel start travel to Uda Walawe
- Afternoon Safari in Uda Walawe National Park
- After that transfer to Mirissa Beach Hotel.
- Overnight stay at Mirissa
Day 09
- Wake up early in the morning & go off with breakfast packets to explore Mirissa Dolphin & Whale Watching Trip.
- After that start traveling to Main City Colombo.
- En-route see Sri Lanka’s traditional stilt fishermen, balancing on poles in the shallow sea.
- En-route explore the famous city of Galle & Go on a walk inside the historical Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
- Walk along the ramparts, explore colonial streets, cafés, and boutiques.
- En-route you can join a Madu River boat safari and fish therapy.
- Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery
- Next check in to Colombo Hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Colombo)
Day 10
- After breakfast relaxing walk in Colombo
- Later travel to Colombo Airport.
- Assist in the departure.
