16-Day Ultimate Grand Tour
Overview
Get ready for a wonderful 16-day holiday across Sri Lanka. This long trip gives you plenty of time to explore the best places on the island. You will start at the sunny beaches of Negombo and move on to see the ancient kingdoms of Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and the famous Sigiriya Rock. After exploring these old cities, you will travel up into the cool hills of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Ella to see beautiful waterfalls, green tea gardens, and take a world-famous scenic train ride.
The adventure continues with exciting wildlife experiences and relaxing beach days. You will go on thrilling jeep safaris in Minneriya and Yala National Parks to see wild elephants and leopards. Then, head down to the southern coast for a boat trip to watch dolphins and whales in Mirissa. You will also visit the historic Galle Fort and relax on the soft sands of Bentota beach before finishing your amazing journey in the busy capital city of Colombo.
Itinerary
Day 01
- Arrival in Colombo Airport.
- ApeLanka Tours tour guide will meet you & welcome you at the arrival gate with orchid garlands.
- You will be directly heading to nearest Negombo Beach Hotel.

Day 02
- After breakfast at Negombo hotel, you’ll be directly traveling to Dambulla.
- En-route visits Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where 80 disabled Elephants & babies are kept
- Baby Elephants feeding.
- In the afternoon enjoy a amazing jeep safari at Minneriya National Park.
- In the evening check in to Dambulla/Sigiriya hotel.

Day 03
- After breakfast at hotel start traveling Kingdom Anuradhpura.
- Explore the whole ancient kingdom Anuradhpura.
- Sacred Sri Maha Bodhi (the oldest try in the world)
- Ruwan Weli Pagoda (highest number of relics of Load Buddha’s inside)
- Ancient swimming pool of king’s Kuttam Pokuna
- Many pagodas, palaces and ruins.
- Travel back to Dambulla and enjoy Hiriwadunna village trip and experience bullock cart trip/ vessel trip/ tree hut/ village cooking demonstration & Tuktuk trip.
- In the evening check in to Dambulla hotel.

Day 04
- After relax breakfast at hotel start travel to Sigiriya and explore UNESCO world heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
- After that start traveling to Kingdom Polonnaruwa.
- Explore the whole Ancient Kingdom of Polonnaruwa.
- Explore the ruins of medieval Polonnaruwa.
- In the evening hike Pidurangala Rock for a panoramic view of Sigiriya Rock at sunset.
- After that check in to Dambulla hotel and relaxing at the hotel.

Day 05
- After breakfast at hotel starts traveling to Kingdom Kandy.
- En-route visit Matale Spice Garden (Authentic Sri Lankan spices & it’s hand made products)
- En-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple, Check in to Kandy hotel for few hours relax.
- Around 4.30 pm go off to entertain witness phenomenal event Kandy Cultural Show (3 dancing styles in Sri Lanka).

Day 06
- After breakfast visit Temple of Tooth Relic (Lord Buddhas sacred tooth relic)
- After that go-off to check amazing Sri Lankan Gem & Jewelry Museum.
- Next visit authentic Sri Lankan Batik clothing, Precious Stones , silk, art ,craft and galleries.
- Observe Kandy Public Market.
- Explore the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden which is the largest botanical garden in Srilanka.
- Evening check in to same Kandy Hotel.

Day 07
- After relax breakfast at hotel start traveling Nuwara Eliya.
- En-route visit Temple loop (Embekke Temple Woodcarving, Gadoladeniya Stone carving, Lankathilaka Image House)
- En-route visit & explore Ambuluwawa Mountain View tower & Nature Reserve.
- Explore Ramboda Waterfall.
- Visit Damro Labukele Tea factory & tea shop.

Day 08
- Wake up early in the morning 5.00 a.m & Go off with breakfast packets to explore Horton Plains National Park.
- Enjoy a interesting trek to explore World end & Bakers Waterfall.
- Back to Nuwara Eliya & visit city places such as Strawberry Plantation, Victoria Park, Gregory Lake & Colonial Buildings.

Day 09
- After relax breakfast at hotel & Drive to Nanu Oya Railway Station
- Experience the one of the most beautiful scenic train ride in the world & directly travel to Ella Nature Paradise.
- After that enjoy the breathtaking 360 panoramic view of Little Adams Peak.
- In Ella visit & explore the iconic Nine Arch Bridge & Ella Gap.

Day 10
- After breakfast at Ella hotel, you’ll be directly traveling to Yala..
- En-route explore the Ravana Falls that is one of the most popular and picturesque waterfall in Srilanka.short drive for photos and fresh air.
- Next join with Yala National Park jeep safari and it’s time to spotting leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and exotic birds.
- Watch the golden sunset over the jungle.
- Freshen up after your safari and head back to the hotel

Day 11
- Wake up early in the morning & go off with breakfast packets to explore Mirissa Dolphin & Whale Watching Trip.
- Back to Mirissa Beach Hotel & check in to it for relax.
- In the evening go to visit Coconut Tree Hill for panoramic ocean views.
- Walk along Secret Beach — a quiet spot with turquoise water.
- Watch sunset from Parrot Rock.

Day 12
- After relax breakfast at hotel start traveling to Galle Ancient City.
- Explore the famous city of Galle & Go on a walk inside the historical Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
- Walk along the ramparts, explore colonial streets, cafés, and boutiques.
- En-route visit Sri Lanka’s traditional stilt fishermen, balancing on poles in the shallow sea.
- Visit the National Maritime Museum at Galle.
- Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery.
- En-route you can enjoy a Madu River Boat Safari & Fish Therapy.
- Next travel to Bentota Beach hotel & relax.

Day 13
