8-Day Heritage & Safari
Overview
Get ready for a fantastic week exploring the diverse beauty of Sri Lanka. This carefully planned trip starts in the heart of the island, where you will climb majestic rock fortresses and see incredible ancient temples. You will also get the chance to meet elephants, ride through a traditional village on a bullock cart, and spot wild animals on a jeep safari. It is an amazing way to see the rich history and vibrant nature of the country up close.
As the trip continues, you will travel up into the misty highlands to visit working tea factories and stunning waterfalls. You will enjoy breathtaking mountain views before heading down to the famous southern coast. The final days are packed with ocean views, historic forts, and a guided tour through the colorful streets of Colombo. Every day brings a fresh and exciting look at what makes this island so special.
Itinerary
Day 01
- Arrival in Colombo Airport.
- ApeLanka Tours tour guide will meet you & welcome you at the arrival gate with orchid garlands.
- You will be directly heading to nearest Dambulla Hotel.
- En-route visits Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where 80 disabled Elephants & babies are kept.
- Baby Elephants feeding.
- Check in to Dambulla hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Dambulla).
Day 02
- After breakfast at hotel start traveling to Sigiriya and explore UNESCO world heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
- Travel back to Dambulla and enjoy Hiriwadunna village trip and experience bullock cart trip/ vessel trip/ tree hut/ village cooking demonstration & Tuktuk trip.
- In the afternoon enjoy a amazing jeep safari at Minneriya National Park.
- In the evening check in to Dambulla/Sigiriya hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Dambulla).
Day 03
- After breakfast at hotel starts traveling Kingdom Kandy.
- En-route visit Matale Spice Garden (Authentic Sri Lankan spices & it’s hand made products).
- En-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
- In the afternoon visit Temple of Tooth Kandy (Loard Buddhas sacred tooth relic).
- Next all can entertain in Kandy Cultural show(3 dancing styles in Sri Lanka).
- Visit whole Kandy City from the view point.
- Evening check in to Kandy Hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Kandy Hotel).
Day 04
- After relax breakfast at hotel go-off to check amazing Sri Lankan Gem & Jewelry Museum.
- Visit Kandy public market.
- Next visit authentic Sri Lankan Batik clothing, silk, art & craft galleries.
- In the afternoon start traveling Nuwara Eliya.
- En-route visit Temple loop (Embekke Temple Woodcarving, Gadoladeniya Stone carving, Lankathilaka Image House).
- En-route visit & explore Ambuluwawa Mountain View tower & Nature Reserve.
- Ramboda Waterfall.
- Damro Tea factory & tea shop.
- In the evening check in to Nuwara Eliya Hotel.
- (Overnight at Nuwara Eliya Hotel).
Day 05
- In the early morning 5.00 am go-off with breakfast packets to explore Horton Plains National Park (Trek to see Worlds end & Bakers Waterfall).
- Next head back to Nuwara eliya & Drive to Nanu Oya Railway Station.
- In the afternoon directly travel Ella Nature Paradise & enjoy the 360 panoramic view Little Adams Peak.
- In Ella visit & explore Nine Arch Bridge & Ella Gap.
- Next check in to Ella Hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Ella).
Day 06
- After breakfast at Ella hotel, you’ll be directly traveling to Yala..
- En-route explore the Ravana Falls that is one of the most popular and picturesque waterfall in Srilanka.short drive for photos and fresh air.
- Next join with Yala National Park jeep safari and it’s time to spotting leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and exotic birds.
- Watch the golden sunset over the jungle.
- Freshen up after your safari and head back to the hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Yala Hotel).
Day 07
- After relax breakfast at hotel & you’ll be directly travelling to Main City Colombo.
- En-route see Sri Lanka’s traditional stilt fishermen, balancing on poles in the shallow sea.
- En-route explore the famous city of Galle & Go on a walk inside the historical Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
- Walk along the ramparts, explore colonial streets, cafés, and boutiques.
- En-route you can join a Madu River boat safari and fish therapy.
- Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery.
- Visits and explore Colombo National Museum, Gangarama Temple, Galleface Green, Lotus Tower, One Galleface mall,Colombo railway station, Port City Beach.
- In the evening check in to Colombo Hotel.
- (Overnight stay at Colombo Hotel).
Day 08
- After breakfast relaxing walk in Colombo.
- Later travel to Colombo Airport.
- Assist in the departure.
